Matt Harris aka DJ Booth Joins A&C as Head of A&R for Techno and Tech House

Ananke and Chronos is proud to announce that Matt Harris—widely known as DJ Booth—has joined the team as Head of A&R for Techno and Tech House. A seasoned selector, respected tastemaker, and passionate advocate for underground music, Matt brings decades of experience, a distinct artistic vision, and an enviable network of industry connections to the Ananke and Chronos family. Matt will play a key role in establishing Ananke and Chronos Black, the label’s new Techno and Tech House imprint. His appointment signals a bold step in our mission to curate innovative sounds that reflect the evolving edge of electronic music culture.

From Indie Roots to Underground Royalty

DJ Booth’s musical journey didn’t begin in a warehouse rave—it started with indie, electronic, and rock. As a teenager, he was unmoved by the happy hardcore and garage tracks dominating the UK charts. But everything changed the night he stepped into Coalesce, a gritty underground party that introduced him to the deeper, darker rhythms of true underground dance music. That night didn’t just flip a switch—it rewired his soul. It wasn’t long before he was crate-digging for vinyl, learning to mix, and shaping his sonic identity behind the decks. With a clear goal—earning a warm-up slot at Coalesce—Matt dedicated himself to the art of DJing. Ironically, the slot that many DJs overlooked became his launchpad. While others chased peak-time glamour, Booth embraced the subtlety and precision required to open a room. His warm-up sets became the stuff of legend, drawing crowds who arrived early just to catch his groove. In time, he became Coalesce’s resident warm-up DJ and a permanent fixture in its community.

A Career Built on Vision and Integrity

Over the years, DJ Booth’s sound has taken him far beyond the UK. He’s performed in clubs and underground spaces across the globe, building an international reputation for taste, technique, and authenticity. He was notably the first English DJ to tour Brazil, blazing a trail long before it became a circuit for big-name acts. In 2012, Matt made his radio debut on MoveHouse.com. Initially filling in for a friend, the audience response was so overwhelming that he was offered a regular show. The Aqua Line of House has been running ever since—a testament to his enduring relevance and ability to connect with listeners.

Collaborations and Creative Vision

Matt’s recent ventures show no signs of slowing. As A&R Director at Ananke and Chronos’ Anaken & Chronicles imprint, he’s already begun shaping new creative directions. He’s also teamed up with Damon Lee Goss (Dextrous) to form The Matt Damon Project—a partnership that promises genre-blending innovation and pure underground magic. He’s currently working closely with Nicky Roland (DJ International, Ananke and Chronos Records) to scout and develop emerging talent, curating releases that reflect the label’s commitment to excellence and boundary-pushing sound.
